Xiaomi Redmi 7 with 6.26-inch 19:9 display, AI dual rear cameras, Android Pie, 4000mAh battery gets certified


After the Redmi Note 7 launch last month, Xiaomi recently confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China on March 18th. Now the Redmi 7 with the model number M1810F6LE has been certified by TENAA. This reveals a large 6.26-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio screen with waterdrop notch, compared to the 18:9 screen on the Redmi 6. This is powered by an Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, which could be Snapdragon 636 or 632. It reveals Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top, gradient back, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and 12-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary camera, and a 4000mAh battery. Opera expands its built-in Cryptocurrency Wallet to iOS


Opera, back in July had announced that it has started testing Cryptowallet beta built-in to its Android app and it supports the Ethereum Web3 API. After expanding it to the desktop, and Android, Opera has now mentioned that it is bringing this feature to iOS soon. iOS users around the globe will soon gain access to a full-featured browser with an integrated native Crypto Wallet and Web 3 browsing functionalities. Opera Touch for iOS will combine easy-to-use Crypto Wallet functionality with support for Ethereum decentralized apps, or Dapps. After testing for a while, Opera introduced the Crypto Wallet to the Opera browser for Android in December 2018. Crypto Wallet functionality introduces Web 3 features to the iOS browser. It is integrating an easy-to-use wallet into the iOS browser. Opera Touch features two themes, dark and light. It has also recently introduced private mode to the browser to give you more privacy on the Web, cookie dialog blocker. Facebook Messenger for Android and iOS gets Dark Mode


Update - March 5, 2019: Facebook has released Dark Mode for Messenger officially. The company says that you still need to send crescent moon emoji to enable it, and the feature will be fully rolled out in settings in the coming weeks.   Earlier: Facebook has been teasing the dark mode for the Messenger app for a while now and it seems to be taking off finally. However, there is no on/off toggle by default, there is a hidden quest involved for users to enable it. You will have to send a moon emoji (🌙 ) in a chat to unlock the feature. Once you've sent the moon emoji, tap on it in the chat thread and you should see a pop-up saying that "you found Dark Mode!" If you are unable to unlock the dark mode in the first attempt, just remove Messenger app from the memory, relaunch it and tap the emoji again and now you should see the dark mode. USB4 specification released: Thunderbolt 3 support, 40Gbps bandwidth and more


Intel has announced that it contributed the Intel Thunderbolt protocol specification to the USB Promoter Group, enabling other chip makers to build Thunderbolt compatible silicon that is royalty free. Additionally, USB Promoter Group announced the pending release of the USB4 specification, based on the Thunderbolt protocol. This convergence will increase compatibility among USB Type-C connector-based products, simplifying how people connect their devices. Earlier, Intel shared plans to integrate Thunderbolt 3 into future Intel CPUs and to release the Thunderbolt protocol specification to the industry. Intel's upcoming 10nm processor codenamed "Ice Lake" will be the first to integrate Thunderbolt 3. Processor integration, this combined with this latest announcement makes it a mainstream adoption of Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt 3 is fully supported in Windows 10, macOS and Linux.
