SHARP AQUOS S3 with 6-inch FHD+ display, Dual rear cameras, Android Oreo announced


Last week Sharp said that it will introduce AQUOS S3 smartphone in Vietnam on March 28th, now the company has announced that phone in Taiwan early. It pack a 6-inch FHD+ display with a notch and has 91% screen-to-body ratio, and the company says that it is the most compact smartphone with a 6-inch screen. It is powered by Snapdragon 630 with 4GB RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Smile UX, has a 12-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.75 aperture, 1.4um pixel size, dual-tone LED flash, similar to the S2, but has have a 13-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots, instead of 8-megapixel in the predecessor. It also offers 2x loss-less zoom. There is a 16-megapixel front camera with support for face unlock that scans 1024 facial points to unlock the phone in 0.1 seconds. Samsung Galaxy Note8 Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out in India


Samsung started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for Galaxy Note8 in France recently. Today it has finally started rolling out the update in India. NS P7819 with Snapdragon 845, Android 8.1 surfaces in Geekbench, AnTuTu benchmarks, rumored to be OnePlus 6


A mysterious smartphone codenamed NS P7819 has surfaced on Geekbench and AnTuTu, which is rumored to be a prototype of the OnePlus 6. This reveals Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM and Android 8.1 for the phone. AnTuTu listing also reveals 64GB storage and a Full HD+ display. In Geekbench is has posted 2546 points for single-core and 8672 points for multi-core and in AnTuTu it has posted 263398 points, on par with other Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones. Recently leaked AnTuTu benchmark scores revealed  276510 points for the phone beating the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, which could be the score of 8GB RAM version of the phone. Xiaomi Black Shark gaming phone with Snapdragon 845 confirmed


A new smartphone code-named Blackshark surfaced on AnTuTu and Geekbench recently, which is believed to be Xiaomi's first gaming smartphone under the new Black shark brand, in which Xiaomi started investing last year. Now the official Black Shark account on weibo and Qualcomm China have confirmed that it will be powered by Snapdragon 845. Earlier rumors revealed 8GB of RAM, Android 8.0 Oreo and 2160 x 1080 FHD+ 18:9 display for the phone. The phone is rumored come with a 120 Hz display to compete with the Razer Phone. It scored 270680 points on AnTuTu and Geekbench score of 2452 for the single-core and 8452 for multi-core on par with other Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones. UIDAI to introduce face authentication option for Aadhaar verification from July 1st


The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is all set to introduce face authentication for Aadhaar verification from July 1st. The face authentication will be available alongside iris or fingerprint scan as an option for verification.  The UIDAI, back in January had announced that it would introduce face authentication feature for verification to help those who run into problems in biometric authentication due to old age, hard work or worn-out fingerprints. UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey, in a presentation, had mentioned that "Aadhaar encryption system will take more than the age of the universe for the fastest computer on earth." Aadhaar is currently used in verifying and identity authentication across banks, telecom companies, public distribution system, income tax amongst others. According to stats, an average of 4 crore authentications are being done on a daily basis. Furthermore, Pandey had said that UIDAI does not collect purpose, location or details of the transaction. Xiaomi is all set to introduce the Mi Mix 2S smartphone at an event in Shanghai tomorrow. The company already confirmed Snapdragon 845, AI camera, AI face unlock, AI scene recognition, AI dual camera and wireless charging support for the phone. Today the company's CEO Lei Jun on weibo confirmed 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for the phone and also said that it will have a ceramic body curved on all four sides. The phone has also surfaced in a new video that shows the front camera has been moved to the bottom right corner on a bezel, and the phone still has a fingerprint sensor on the back, even though some rumors hinted at in-display fingerprint sensor to compete with Vivo. OPPO just launched the F7, the company's latest selfie-focused smartphone in India. It sports a 6.23-inch Full HD+19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 88% screen-to-body ratio. Since it a selfie-centric phone, the OPPO F7 comes with a 25-megapixel front camera. We have got our hands on the phone so let's take a detailed look at hardware and specifications of the phone. WhatsApp beta for Android finally brings QR Code Payments Option


WhatsApp rolled out Payments option back in February, though it is currently under testing with limited functionality, the company is slowly refining the feature. Now the company has brought the ability to make payments using the QR Code.  With QR Code, users can make payments by scanning QR Codes. However, the feature is currently only available to Android with the beta version V2.18.93 and the update is already rolling out through Google Play Store. To access the QR Code feature, users need to follow the similar process, tap on the three dots on the right top. After that, you need to tap the Payments option and which then will present you with two options; UPI ID and Scan QR Code. Post which you will be taken you the QR code scanning screen where you will have to scan the code, enter the amount followed by the UPI PIN verification. You can also view your own QR code from the payments section from the three-dot menu and clicking Show QR code. With QR Code support, WhatsApp officially supporting the UPI guidelines. Since the update is already out for beta users, you can simply update the app directly from the Play Store.
