NASA Shows Off Incredible Footage of World's Fastest Aircraft — SR-71 Blackbird
Earlier last month, Lockheed Martin strongly hinted that they're developing the world's first hypersonic plane, the SR-72. NASA recently made videos of the SR-72's predecessor public on YouTube. Developed in the 1960s, the SR-71 remains the fastest manned aircraft ever flown.
Lockheed Martin initially developed designs for the SR-71 in the 1950s but kept the project under wraps. The planes could reach speeds of up to 2,200 mph or Mach 3. Not only would they reach those speeds, the planes could sustain them for over an hour at a time. Its maximum altitudes came in at nearly 26,000 meters (85,000 feet).

This Self-Taught Designer Built an Incredible Secret Office Beneath a Busy Bridge
A plumber-turned-furniture designer has built himself a secret studio under a public bridge in Valencia, Spain. Fernando Abellanas designed and built the compact space himself using his knowledge of design and adventurous spirit to create a unique working area.

While he won't disclose the exact location of his 'office' he explains he isn't worried about people finding it. "The project is an ephemeral intervention," he explains, "[It will remain] until someone finds it and decides to steal the materials, or the authorities remove it."
The minimalist setup hosts a chair, a desk, and two shelves, making it as comfortable and practical as any other rented space found in the city.

13 Futuristic Airport Designs
Modern airports tend to push the limits of architectural design, but the following 13 are something else. Here are 13 of the most ambitious futuristic airport designs we've ever seen.
The following are in no particular order and are far from exhaustive.
1. Pulkovo Airport, Russia
We'll kick off our list of futuristic airport designs with this beauty. The main terminal to this building will be the first thing the estimated 12 million visitors will see on arrival. Grimshaw Architects are the chaps behind the concept, and they are known for their aggressive designs.

5 Interesting Fluid Dynamics Concepts Explained Brilliantly
Fluid dynamics are everywhere around us: water flowing through the tap, cool air breeze from your air conditioner, blood stream flowing within your body, or even the smoke pumping out from the exhaust of your car. These fluids play an important role in making life possible on our Earth. Over the years, scientists and researchers have contributed in this field of science to uncover interesting phenomena and behavior of fluids under varied conditions. Their efforts have made it possible for us to understand the nature even better.

While fluid mechanics is a branch of science that is concerned with the mechanics of fluids and the forces acting on them, fluid dynamics is its sub-discipline that essentially describes the flow of fluids or more precisely, study of fluids in motion.

Inside SpaceX's Revolutionary Merlin Engines That Could Take Us to Mars
SpaceX caused a furor on social media recently with its latest Instagram post showing the 1,000th test on one of their Merlin engines at the SpaceX Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, Texas. It seems, so far, so good for the company who is currently the largest private producer of rocket engines in the world.
Team in McGregor, Texas completed 1,000th Merlin engine test on this stand—where all first stage engines are vetted before launch.

Merlin is the family of rocket engines powering the array of SpaceX's two-stage Falcon rockets and Dragon free flying spacecraft currently operating under a cargo resupply contract with NASA.

Scientists Recreate 'Diamond Rain' of Neptune and Uranus Here on Earth
When we think of diamonds, images of miners and dark underground passages come to mind. But what about raining diamonds? A few years back, scientists identified this very phenomenon on the neighboring planets of Jupiter and Saturn. Now, however, it is Neptune and Uranus where it is being observed.

Ask the average person about what's happening on Mars or Venus, and chances are you may get an effort at a response, albeit somewhat inaccurate.

Tesla Is Offering the Chance to Drive the Boring Machine to Its Top Referrers
A Tesla Model X-owning family has recently unlocked a secret level within the Tesla Referral Program. This periodic and incentive-motivated referral program is promising one diligent referrer the chance to drive Godot, the Boring Company's first tunnel boring machine. The unusual reward is just one of the program's generous and exclusive prizes.
Tesla's referral program lets one diligent referrer drive Godot
Last year, electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla began a real-life adventure and challenge series rewardable with generous incentives. In corporate terms, Tesla called this incentive-motivated scheme their "Referral Program".
Every few set of months, beginning in October 2016, Tesla would publish a new referral program containing various rewards.

Britain Will Oppose a Pre-Emptive Ban on 'Killer Robots'
Concerns about the potential of turning autonomous robots into deadly weapons is a case of too little too late according to experts in the field. Leading figures in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics industry have joined forces to demand an outright ban on 'killer robots'.  The open letter to the UN is signed by Tesla and Open AI CEO Elon Musk as well as 115 other 'experts' including Alphabet's Mustafa Suleyman.
The group writes, "Once developed, lethal autonomous weapons will permit armed conflict to be fought at a scale greater than ever, and at timescales faster than humans can comprehend.
