Top 5 Global Green Building Trends of 2017
Thanks in part to the U.N.'s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, green building projects are increasing worldwide. As a matter of fact, from 2015 to 2018 the percentage of global builders with at least 60 percent of their projects certified green will double, according to the World Green Building Trends report.
The main motivation behind green construction is to reduce carbon emissions. And the most successful ways to do that revolve around energy usage. Namely, to decrease energy consumption and increase energy efficiency in homes and buildings around the world.

Scientists Just Used Einstein's 100-Year-Old Theory to Weigh a Dwarf Star
Albert Einstein's almost century old theories are still being used for new science discoveries. The latest being the breakthrough in star research using a theory called gravitational lensing. A team of scientists used Einstein's theory to measure the mass of a dwarf star.

Einstein's friend R.W. Mandl asked him to research and publish on a particular part of Einstein's famous "Theory of Relativity". He wanted to know more about the way stars should deflect the light that passes by them like a lens would.

Elon Musk Says Almost All Tesla Superchargers Will Go Off-Grid
Tesla is proving just how serious they are in making solar energy the standard. This week they announced their plans to disconnect almost all their Superchargers from the electricity grid. Instead, the Supercharger stations will rely totally on solar and battery power.
Tesla has been talking about adding solar arrays to its Supercharger stations since the network debuted in 2012. But until now only about 6 out of the 800 stations have solar arrays. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the company's plans to roll out more battery and solar systems in time for the launch of the Version 3 of their supercharger.

This Imaginary Subway Map Features Ancient Roman Roads
An undergraduate student from the University of Chicago, Alexandr 'Sasha' Trubetskoy, created a subway-style diagram of the major Roman roads. He based the modern-looking subway map on the road network of the Roman Empire around the ca. 125 AD period.

The making of the Roman roads map
Trubetskoy is a statistics student originally from Washington DC. As a self-proclaimed geography and data nerd, he spends his free time making maps. Creating the map required serious research according to Trubetskoy. He had to look up the links between cities and by which road they are connected with.
