 The Official ICC (International Cricket Council) World T20 Cricket app is now available for BlackBerry Smartphones. This app would let you follow the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka right from you BlackBerry smartphone. This app would offer live stream of news, match reports, scores, statistics and insider news from the tournament, as well as profiles of players.  ZTE Blade III that was leaked last month is now official. It packs in a 4-inch (800x480 pixels) 262K TFT Capacitive Touch Screen display and is powered by a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM 7227 A processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera at the back and has Dual Microphones. ZTE Blade III specifications 4-inch (800x480 pixels) 262K TFT Capacitive Touch Screen display 1GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM 7227 A processor Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS 5MP auto focus camera 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory (2.5GB user memory), Micro SD memory card up to 32 GB 3G (HSDPA 7.2Mbps), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP, GPS 1600 mAh battery The ZTE Blade III would be available in white color in Finland in September and in black color in Sweden in October for 1499 Swedish kronor (~US$ 229). It would be available in other key markets around Europe and the world throughout 2012. For these specs and price this definitely looks like a good phone.    |
 HTC recently announced two new Windows Phone 8 devices, the flagship 8X, and the "mid range" 8S. The company said they would both ship in November, but they failed to say how much they were going to cost. Thanks to the UK online retailed Clove, we now have some pricing data. They're selling preorders for the 8X for roughly $650, while the 8S goes for a more reasonable $385. Both of those prices include tax by the way. To put those numbers into some perspective, Clove also sells Samsung's 2012 flagship device, the Galaxy S III, for $750. Apple's iPhone 5, which launches in the UK tomorrow, starts at $850! httpv://youtu.be/G4MsEFUlCZY Two questions immediately come to mind: One, are these prices roughly what we can expect Nokia to charge for their Windows Phone 8 devices, the Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820? Two, is HTC purposefully undercutting the competition in order to gain market share? We'll know the answer to the first question in a little over a month, but as for the second one, we'll have to wait until HTC posts some financial results.  Apple has released the iOS 6 for the public for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the new iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch (fourth generation). Apple announced the iOS 6 at WWDC 2012 in June that brings 200 new features including Apple-designed Maps app with turn-by-turn navigation, new Siri improvements, Facebook integration, Shared Photo Streams, Passbook app and more. The iOS6 update would remove the Google Maps apps that would be replaced with the Apple's own Maps app. The YouTube app would also be removed, but you can download the new standalone YouTube app. Some features are available only in select countries and select devices. You can see the complete list of features available in your county from the Apple Site. You can update your devices via iTunes or download the OTA update (iOS5 only) your device from the Settings > General > Software Update.    |
 Opera has updated the Opera Mini app for Android that brings the new Smart Page feature. This lets you view your favorite sites, latest updates from social networks (Twitter and Facebook), news gathered from your favorite sites (via their RSS feeds) and suggested links on the home screen.  Evernote has finally launched the Skitch app for iPhone. Evernote launched the Skitch for Android last August and the Skitch for iPad was launched last December.
