Fone Arena

Here is the FoneArena review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 800 (Note 10.1). It was originally announced at MWC 2012 earlier this year, but Samsung upgraded its specs when it launched. It launched in India in August. It packs in a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) TFT display, 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor and runs on Android 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwich) with the TouchWiz UI on top. It also comes with the S Pen input and has 3G HSPA+ support. It also lets you make voice calls. Let's dive into the review. Box Contents The box contents include a standard charger, USB cable, in-ear earphones and a user Manual. Video Review httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDLXRUUZN8Y Hardware The front part of the device is similar to the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The display is glossy, hence it is a fingerprint magnet. There is a large bezel around the display with the speakers on a silver colored plastic rim running all around the tablet. The display is bright but has very low pixel density of just 149 ppi which is disappointing. Hence the details are not crisp. There is a 1.9 Megapixel camera at the top and a Ambient light sensor next to it. At the top there is a power / lock button, Volume rocker, microSD card slot ...

What you're looking at above and below are photos of what is alleged to be the Nokia Lumia 510. It's supposed to have a 4 inch screen, an 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor, 256 MB of RAM, and a 5 megapixel camera. It's also supposed to run Windows Phone 7.8. We have no idea how much it's going to cost, but let's put it this way: Nokia's cheapest Windows Phone, the Lumia 610, can currently be had for roughly $225 depending on where you go. If this thing is one whole product tier under, we're assuming that based on the model name, then it may very well be Nokia's first sub $200 Windows Phone. When will it come out? That's a question we wish we could answer. According to the folks from The Verge, the Lumia 510 is codenamed "Glory" and it could be on store shelves by this holiday shopping season. That gives Nokia plenty of time to announce this thing. Windows Phone 7.8, as far as we know, isn't complete yet. It's not running on any of the current Windows Phone devices on the market, so it's plausible that Nokia could announce "Glory" during the same time that Microsoft ...

Samsung has just announced a brand new device for the Indian market called the Champ Neo Duos. It doesn't run Android, sadly, or any other smartphone operating system, which means it's a feature phone. Before you run away though, let's see what makes this device special. First, the screen. It's 2.4 inches diagonal, which makes it impossibly tiny. Some people have a thing for small devices, so that's a plus. Now because the phone is so miniscule, Samsung knows you're probably going to rip your hair out trying to use it, so they were nice enough to throw in a stylus. That's right, a feature phone with a stylus! When was the last time you saw that? And finally there's the best feature of all: It takes two SIM cards. Perfect for saving money. How much does it cost exactly? Rs. 3260. That makes it incredibly cheap, but should you buy it? You should do your research first. Take the Samsung Galaxy Pocket for example. At 2.8 inches it's a tiny bit bigger, but it comes with Android, which makes it incredibly powerful. It even has 3G and GPS. That phone comes in at Rs. 6990, which is more than double, ...

On Wednesday, the 19th of September, Apple released iOS 6. According to research done by Chitika, an online advertising company, they say that 15% of iOS devices in the United States and Canada updated to the new version within the first 24 hours. That's frankly astonishing when you think about it. To put that number into some perspective, Chitika says that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, despite being a couple of months old now, is only responsible for 1.5% of web traffic in the same two countries. Say what you will about Apple and how expensive the iPhone is, but the company sure seems to know how to make sure that their customers are using the most up to date software. Speaking about iOS 6, we should bring up some of the problems that people are facing. One, Apple pulled out the YouTube application. Why? Because Apple hates Google. Now this doesn't matter all that much because Google already has a YouTube application in Apple's App Store. It's the number one free application at the moment. Two, Apple pulled out Google Maps. The maps they replaced them with, Apple Maps, are not only uglier, but they're far less accurate. This is a ...
