Symbian^4 Demo – Kind of Scary

Symbian 4 Screenshots 300x256 Symbian^4 Demo Kind of ScarySymbian^4 has supposedly being demod on video. We say "supposedly" because we are not quite convinced they are the real deal due to 1) it kind of looks a little lame, and 2)I am unsure why the video isn't that good quality that you'd expect to see if a demo was being created.
Either way, what we do see in the video is a fairly standard home screen with widgets that can be moved around. The home screen's look similar to how Android OS works in that you can scroll to the side to get more space for more icons and widgets.
The photo section also looks fairly basic with the screen needing a swipe up or down to scroll down a grid of pictures.
PhoneArena point out that if the operating system is as simple as it looks on the two videos below then why is it taking them so long? This is taking in to consideration that Android seems to get builds out far quicker.
I just hope the next iterations of Symbian are better than what they have now. From what I have used on Symbian based phones there's often lag and unresponsiveness from the touchscreen where repeated taps are needed to hit a confirmation button. Perhaps Symbian should just start from the ground up like Windows Phone 7 Series has done.

Windows Phone Starter Edition Details

Windows Phone 7 Series Phone Windows Phone Starter Edition DetailsMicrosoft [MSFT] have provided more details on their Windows Phone Starter Edition operating system that was first announced a couple of weeks back. Windows Phone Starter Edition will be available in two versions. One of them will run Office Mobile and the other will not.
ZDNet managed to find some details on how Microsoft plan to launch Windows Phone Starter Edition. From what the answers to various questions say we see that a couple of SKU's are going to be made available with one which will have Office Mobile as mentioned above. We also hear that multi-language versions are being made available and the OS supports various networks including 2G, 2.5G, CDMA and TD-SCDMA radios.
A number of the questions were avoided, but the spokesperson did say we can expect devices to launch later this year. It is still unclear if Starter Edition is just a stripped down version of Windows Mobile 6.5 as that question wasn't answered.
The full Q&A can be found over on ZDNet.

JooJoo Shipping Delayed till March 25

joojoo 300x215 JooJoo Shipping Delayed till March 25Fusion Garage have announced that the JooJoo will be delayed due to problems with manufacturing. The release date was supposed to be this weekend, but now it has been pushed to March 25.
To help calm those who have pre-ordered the JooJoo down the company are going to be giving a free accessory away when the JooJoo finally ships towards the end of next month. We are guessing that you'll get a free stand with the JooJoo if you pre-ordered it although that's not official.
Just a quick update on what the JooJoo is for those that don't know, it's a tablet device that has a 12.1 inch capacitive touchscreen that allows you to easily surf the web while relaxing.
Hopefully this will be the last delay on the JooJoo or it might run the risk of Apple beating it to the shelves with the launch of the iPad.
Pre-orders can be still made over at the JooJoo site.
